Protea Cottage
A cosy one-bedroom cottage, ideal for couples seeking a peaceful countryside escape in the heart of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus. The bedroom features a king-size bed and an en suite bathroom with a shower, offering comfortable luxury farm accommodation surrounded by nature and mountain scenery.
Protea Cottage enjoys sweeping views of the mountains and rolling farm fields, where our resident Nguni cattle graze peacefully. The cottage features a spacious open-plan dining area and comfortable lounge, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for relaxed farm living. On cooler evenings, guests can unwind beside the indoor fireplace, while the shaded outdoor braai area is perfect for enjoying meals outdoors beneath the trees and fresh country air. Children under the age of two are welcome in a cot.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a fridge/freezer, oven and stove, microwave, air fryer, Nespresso coffee machine, and dishwasher. Complimentary ground coffee, tea, sugar, and fresh farm milk are provided for your stay. Guests also enjoy DStv, free WiFi, and optional housekeeping at an additional charge.

Deposit Policy
A deposit of 50% is required in order to secure your booking. We can only confirm your booking once we have received your deposit proof of payment (POP). The balance is required 7 days before check-in.
Cancellation Policy
- 0–7 days prior to arrival – no refund
- 8–14 days prior to arrival – forfeit 75% of total stay
- 15–0 days prior to arrival – forfeit 50% of total stay
- Cancellations in excess of 30 days in advance will incur a 10% handling fee to cover bank charges and administration costs
- Guests who don't show up – no refund
Water
Our water comes from a natural spring on the farm. It is safe to drink and is tested monthly adhering to international standards. Please be aware that the water may have a brown discolouration in the toilets due to a high iron deposit in our springs.
Front Gate
All cottages are supplied with a remote for opening and closing the main entrance gate. This gate will open automatically when exiting the farm.
Electricity Inverters
You will never be without electricity. We have now installed electricity inverters in every cottage. So, no more load shedding – you will always have TV and lights.

Farm Breakfast Delivered
Why not treat yourself and order one of our delicious farm breakfast baskets. We will deliver it to your doorstep. We also offer barbecue (braai) options as well as delicious dinner baskets. Please enquire at reception.
Laundry
We provide a laundry service at an additional cost. Please note that we take no responsibility for any damage to your clothing.
Barbecue (Braai) Facilities
Each unit has a built in barbecue on the patio. We also have braai wood for sale. Please enquire at reception.

Selected DStv channels are available in the cottages.
Housekeeping
We offer complimentary housekeeping on every 3rd day of your stay. Alternatively, daily housekeeping can be arranged at an extra cost.
Keys
A full set of keys with a remote control for the front gate is provided to you upon arrival. Please ensure that you leave these keys in your cottage when you depart.
Cell Phone Reception
Cell phone service is limited on the farm. There is free WiFi available, so you can always stay in touch using WhatsApp or other messenger apps. There is a radio phone at reception for any emergency calls.

Smoking
Smoking is not permitted indoors in any of the cottages. We will unfortunately charge a R2 000 cleaning fee if anyone smokes indoors.
Swimming Pool
Our pool may only be used by farm guests. Please do not leave any children unattended at the swimming pool.
Linen and Towels
All of our linen is 100% percale cotton. We supply all linen for beds and towels for bathrooms. However, please bring along your own beach towels for use at our pool.
Parking
As we are on a farm out in nature the area is relatively crime free. Parking is safe.

Every cottage has a hairdryer.
